goodbye yes please blog

In 2014 I launched a blog, Yes Please, which became my full-time job for two and a half years. It earned me a decent income through sponsored content, brand deals and affiliate links, and it also took me to some amazing places. Best of all, it became the springboard for my career in journalism, which in turn led to editor positions for interiors magazines such as Livingetc and House & Garden (but also positions at Good Housekeeping, BBC Good Food, Country & Townhouse, to name only a few). In other words, it served its purpose. But the blog has since been dormant for 8 years, and now it’s time to close it down for good. The blog was very typical of that time – mostly simple recipes, London party life, DIY ideas and blog posts about holidays (cringe). The online world has evolved since the days of old fashioned blogging, and I’m happy to let go of Yes Please. Ten years and two children later, I’ve moved abroad and ventured into interior design and mural painting – so Yes Please just doesn’t feel “me” anymore. It’s the end of an era! Onwards and upwards.
